About Instructor

Dr. Shahan Saleem is doing his Residency in Plastic (Cosmetic, Burn, and Reconstructive) Surgery from Jinnah Burn and Reconstructive Surgery Center, Lahore (Largest Burn Center of Punjab). He has scored a number of achievements, including securing 1st position in F.Sc (Pre-medical Group) in Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala, for which he has received numerous awards from various renowned personalities, including Chief Minister Punjab (Shahbaz Sharif) and Secretary Health Punjab.

He completed his graduation/MBBS from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, during which he achieved many distinctions with Gold and Silver medals. Recently, he has received multiple letters of appreciation from the Editor of the famous Textbook of Surgery “Bailey and Love,” Professor Ronan O’Connell (Current President of the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland), for pointing out four different theoretical mistakes in Bailey and Love (27th edition).

As an honor, Dr. Shahan Saleem was offered to contribute, as a Surgical Instructor and Reviewer, to the official website of Bailey and Love. He has pointed out mistakes in the Washington Manual of Surgery, for which he received a letter of appreciation from Professor Marry E. Klingensmith (Author of the Manual and Senior Professor of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine St. Louis, Missouri). He has also pointed out mistakes in “Michigan Manual of Plastic Surgery,” for which he was highly appreciated by Professor David Brown and Professor Gregory Borschel (Editors of the Manual and Consultant Plastic Surgeons at Michigan School of Medicine).

He is now the author of one of the chapters of the Michigan Manual of Plastic Surgery—probably the only Pakistani contributor in the long list of MDs from the U.S.A. and the youngest Pakistani author to contribute to an international book of Plastic Surgery. He has also pointed out theoretical mistakes in the Oxford Textbook of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which was confirmed by the lead editor of the Textbook, Professor Simon Kay (Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds, UK).
